About the Owner
Some might say, "animals are in her blood." Becca grew up on a small ranchette in North Fort Collins. She was heavily involved in 4-H showing horses, swine, cattle & sheep during her 10 years as a member. She also competed in horse & livestock judging. During high school, she participated in an equine science class at Front Range Community College, and following high school graduation(Go Poudre!), she fulfilled her dream to attend Colorado State University, where she attained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science & Agricultural Business. While at CSU, she was on the 2006 AQHA World Champion horse judging team & was a member of Ag Ambassadors. Following graduation she worked at various small & large animal veterinary clinics in a multitude of positions, including the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Although horses had been a part of most of her life, a series of events led Becca to not have a "show" horse for several years. In 2018 she purchased a 2 year old AQHA/APHA mare named Cowgirls Wear Prada & she began taking her to shows in early 2019. "Prada" was young & we we asked a lot of her. At every show she was sore & Becca would ask someone pulse her. Becca was always amazed how well PEMF worked & how much it helped her mare. After having her second child she realized just how tough it was to work for someone else & also care for her children. She started researching more about PEMF therapy & dug deeper into its overwhelming capability to energize and regenerate the voltage of the cells of all living things. In May 2020 she started Competitive Edge PEMF Therapy.
About PEMF Therapy
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF)therapy uses the naturally occurring electromagnetic field to improve cellular function and recovery. Drug free, non-invasive, and painless, pulsed electromagnetic frequency are delivered through a coil placed on the body. This recharges the cells, similar to how a battery is recharged, to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself. The FDA began approving PEMF in 1979 for bone loss, then they made additional approvals in 1987 for post-operative edema and pain, 2004 as an adjunct to cervical fusion surgery, and 2011 for depression. PEMF is even used by NASA to support their astronauts. In humans, PEMF therapy is used to help arthritis, chronic pain, depression, and many other issues. Structurally, human cells and animal cells (both mammals) are nearly identical. As a result, PEMF can also be used for horses & other animals. It has the ability to reach deep below the surface(up to 14-16 inches) and address concerns on a cellular level. As an area receives the electromagnetic pulses, the damaged cell membrane gently expands and relaxes. Through this process, the body releases unwanted waste, toxins, and inflammation. Once these undesirable substances are released in the living being’s body, a healthy flow of oxygen and nutrients can take place in the designated area to recharge the cells.
The primary benefits of PEMF therapy include:
